IRAQ: Bush, Blair, Howard and the Downing Street memo

From the Green Left Weekly:

Rohan Pearce

US troops shot Farqad Mohammed Khinaisar at 8am on May 29. She was 15 minutes away from the Baghdad high school she taught at when a convoy of soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division opened fire on her car. Her death was the end result of a decision by the US, British and Australian governments to pursue their imperial interests, at the expense perhaps more than 100,000 Iraqi lives.

With the publication of the “Downing Street memo” in Britain's Sunday Times on May 1, the motives behind the Iraq invasion are once more under scrutiny. The top-secret document records the minutes of a July 2002 meeting between British Prime Minister Tony Blair, some of Blair's closest advisors, top cabinet members and senior members of Britain's intelligence community, including Richard Dearlove, head of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6).

While the US media did not extensively cover the issue at first, 88 members of Congress signed a letter sent to US President George Bush on May 5 by Democrat Congress member John Conyers that calls for the White House to respond to the issues raised by the memo. A petition in support of Conyers' letter has garnered more than 500,000 signatures.

General admits to secret air war....Gotta Love the Downing Street Memos!!

And....now we have a General admitting to a secret air war 9 months before the occupation of Iraq by chump and company.....

Where can I get tickets to the hangings??

"THE American general who commanded allied air forces during the Iraq war appears to have admitted in a briefing to American and British officers that coalition aircraft waged a secret air war against Iraq from the middle of 2002, nine months before the invasion began.

Addressing a briefing on lessons learnt from the Iraq war Lieutenant-General Michael Moseley said that in 2002 and early 2003 allied aircraft flew 21,736 sorties, dropping more than 600 bombs on 391 “carefully selected targets” before the war officially started.

The nine months of allied raids “laid the foundations” for the allied victory, Moseley said. They ensured that allied forces did not have to start the war with a protracted bombardment of Iraqi positions.

If those raids exceeded the need to maintain security in the no-fly zones of southern and northern Iraq, they would leave President George W Bush and Tony Blair vulnerable to allegations that they had acted illegally."

The Downing Street Memo: Either You Want Answers From Chump or You Don't

Remember the crap from the chump: "either you are with us or, you are against us".
I don't know who "us" is but, I have never been in agreement with any republican or conservobot in my life. I guess I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Now, with the Downing Street Memo we have evidence of criminal activity by the chump and his criminal enterprise (no surprise here) that needs to be answered so we can determine what actions can and will be taken against the regime occupying our government and Iraq.

Here is a story that takes this issue to task:

"(KRT) - Do you want to know?

That's the only popular division that matters in the United States today: Those who want to determine once and for all if President Bush knowingly ``fixed the facts'' regarding Iraq, thereby misleading Congress and the American people into supporting an unnecessary war, and those who will cover their ears and hum loudly in order to maintain their belief that Bush and his advisors remain above reproach."

John Kerry and the Downing Street Memo

The pressure on the chump builds and the right-wing elementary talking points are having no effect.

Napalm.....The US lies to Britain

In their normal way, the US regime of Bush and Company lied about the use of napalm in Iraq. No surprise here and it all comes about due to the Downing Street Memos.

"The MK77 bombs, an evolution of the napalm used in Vietnam and Korea, carry kerosene-based jet fuel and polystyrene so that, like napalm, the gel sticks to structures and to its victims. The bombs lack stabilising fins, making them far from precise."

Read more here>>>

Officials confirmed the use of these muntions in 2003...you can read that here>>>. Looks like the domestic enemy of the US got called on yet another lie.

For information on the MK-77 munitions read about that here>>>.

Over at Shakespeare's Sister you can get the live blogging of Friday's hearings and you can read it there.

Also, Crooks and Liars have the video highlights of the hearings for you to watch.

Lots of good publicity is coming out of this mess and the criminal enterprise occupying our government and Iraq is feeling the heat. Watch the MSM for bullshit diversionary stories to verify my claim.

See you soon!! Back to work....while I can.

Downing Street Memo: Part Deux

Ministers were told of need for Gulf war ‘excuse’
Michael Smith
MINISTERS were warned in July 2002 that Britain was committed to taking part in an American-led invasion of Iraq and they had no choice but to find a way of making it legal.

The warning, in a leaked Cabinet Office briefing paper, said Tony Blair had already agreed to back military action to get rid of Saddam Hussein at a summit at the Texas ranch of President George W Bush three months earlier.

The briefing paper, for participants at a meeting of Blair’s inner circle on July 23, 2002, said that since regime change was illegal it was “necessary to create the co
nditions” which would make it legal.

The Downing Street Memo and the Freeway Blogger

Signs of the times
Freeway Blogger gives Bay Area drivers something to think about
By Jan Stürmann

So you're stuck in rush hour traffic heading out of San Francisco on Highway 101, surrounded by five lanes of fellow commuters flipping fingers, flossing teeth, or yakking on cell phones. Viacom and Clear Channel billboards promise escape, seduction, and the latest widget. You dull the tedium by tuning into rant radio or NPR platitudes.

Then you look up and see a large man with unruly hair and dark glasses running across a pedestrian overpass. He fights the wind for possession of a 6-by-10-foot cardboard sign. You try to read the letters but can't. As he stops above you and fastens the sign to the fence, the big black letters pop into focus: "Halliburton: Thanks for All the Money! Sorry About Your Kids."

For each minute this sign remains up, a hundred commuters like you will be exposed to the viral message of a man who calls himself Freeway Blogger.

Check out DailyKos and the Downing Street Minutes!!

I heard the chimp getting huffy on satellite radio today. Seems he is getting a wee bit perturbed over the questions about the Downing Street memo....Fuck him.

He is getting pissed because the little prick can't lie his way out of it.

Here is a quick look at the Kos post and a link to numerous evidence exhibits.

Downing Street Minutes is exhibit 23 of 43

So, why is the mainstream media ignoring the Downing Street Minutes? Minutes from a British Prime Minister's meeting in July of 2002 which contained this explosive evidence:
C reported on his recent talks in Washington. There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime's record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action.

Are they ignoring it because they want corroborating evidence? Well, if it's corroborating evidence the press wants, let's help em out.

Bolton and the Downing Street Memo? Say it ain't so!!

Can the Bolton nomination be necessary to coverup the Downing Street Memo?? The plot seems to be thickening....hmmmmm. What other lies from the neo-cons, conservobots and republiscum await us??

By CHARLES J. HANLEY

John R. Bolton flew to Europe in 2002 to confront the head of a global arms-control agency and demand he resign, then orchestrated the firing of the unwilling diplomat in a move a U.N. tribunal has since judged unlawful, according to officials involved.

A former Bolton deputy says the U.S. undersecretary of state felt Jose Bustani "had to go," particularly because the Brazilian was trying to send chemical weapons inspectors to Baghdad. That might have helped defuse the crisis over alleged Iraqi weapons and undermined a U.S. rationale for war.

Bustani, who says he got a "menacing" phone call from Bolton at one point, was removed by a vote of just one-third of member nations at an unusual special session of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), at which the United States cited alleged mismanagement in calling for his ouster.
