As the new Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, you need a new powerful message and mission. You need to think boldly in terms of fundamentals. You need to think like our Founding Fathers, because saving a democracy is as important as creating it. Attention must be paid to the truth: We need a Second American Revolution. You can be a leader and healer for our time.
Time to fess up about the many ways American democracy has been terribly degraded over recent decades. And time for the Democratic Party to position itself as the guardian of democracy by admitting how it has been weakened and how it must be restored to greatness. Where the party has been complicit in many democracy-destroying actions, it must admit responsibility. It must walk away from all forms of corporate corruption.

Interesting article. But I must say, not enough people will do it. Alot of people are under this spectacular impression that the Bush Administration is great.
Well the best time to strike is now. The Republican Party is split, there is internal fighting on all issues. Grover Norquist can't really do anything about it. It is only a matter of time before Republicans start turning on Republicans.

If THAT'S what you're holding up as proof that we're "eating our own", you're weak. My party is strong and getting stronger. Democrats refuse to learn lessons taught them in elections. Their own arrogance will ensure another republican victory in 2008. They (you) still think you've got it right and we got it wrong. I realize this is a liberal blog, but hell, I have no idea who or what democrats are about anymore. If I have no idea (and I follow politics) what chance does John Q have?

What you don't understand is, RR...the grassroots, people like me, took over the DNC. It was necessary for the survival of the Democratic Party that the DLC listen up....and they knew it. Now, they are next.
